Jean M. Price, President, and Principal Broker was born near Manchester, England, where she grew up. A graduate of the Royal Society of Arts and Letters, she emigrated to New York City in 1967 with her husband, Chris, when he was appointed Editorial Manager of the New York office of an international scientific publishing house.
Jean obtained her real estate license in 1968, after moving to Westchester County, NY. She quickly became a star in the Brewster, NY area, with a reputation for selling at least one house every week. She moved to Chatham, NY in 1972, and continued her real estate career, while raising her two children, Cameron, and Fiona.
In 1985, Jean joined the firm of Arthur Lee of Red Rock, Inc., under the patronage of George S. Lee, son of the founder. She quickly became a top producer in Columbia County, a distinction she still enjoys today. When George Lee retired in 1998, he sold Jean the business, since he believed she had the dedication and integrity necessary to continue its long tradition of excellence.
Jean’s strong business leadership has enabled the firm to prosper, and grow, but public relations and sales remains her first love. Jean worked for many years with her husband, as a writer and copy-editor, and her skill in that endeavor is apparent in all her real estate advertising.
Over the years, Jean has developed friendships with many of her past clients, and customers. This remarkable group includes a former Lieutenant Governor of the State of New York, distinguished attorneys, famous performers, talented artists, top educators, and high achievers in many walks of life, but Jean is equally at home with hard-working plain folk.
The Legal Profession recognizes Jean's expertise in her chosen fi eld, and has called her as an Expert Witness in connection with Real Estate litigation. A skillful negotiator, and an expert at analyzing what people say they are looking for, Jean has the uncanny ability to discern what will satisfy that need, often before customers realize it themselves. For her, real estate is a calling, not merely a job. Her sensitivity, and dedication to her customers is a guarantee their real estate search will be enjoyable in every possible way. She demands that same personal dedication from each of her agents.
A devoted mother, and grandmother, Jean spends much of her precious free time with her three grandchildren who live with their parents in the Chatham area. A lifetime member of the Columbia County Agricultural Society, a member of the local Chamber of Commerce, a Realtor, and former treasurer of Crellin Community Park, Jean is, through personal experience, a strong believer in the Columbia County way of life, with all of its Social, Educational and Cultural benefits.
Jean is licensed in the State of New York, and in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Fiona Van Wie, Associate Broker, has been totally immersed in Columbia County real estate since childhood. That is a fate she could hardly avoid, being Jean Price’s daughter.
Fiona is a 1994 graduate of Chatham High School. Once gifted with a three-octave range, she studied the Italian Voice method (bel canto), starting in her early teens. She attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute for two summers before an automobile accident cut short a promising career in performance.
Undaunted, Fiona chose, instead, to raise a family, and is enjoying considerable success in that endeavor. She is married to Christopher Van Wie, a local painting contractor, and union painter. They have two young sons, Tristan, and Grayson, and a younger daughter, Braeden.
What could be more natural for Fiona than to have developed a competent, easy style in real estate? Popular with buyers and sellers from all backgrounds, she first obtained her sales license in 1998, and, went on to become a fully qualified broker. She has completed several programs in real estate appraisal, also.
In recent years, Fiona found another outlet for her artistic talent, as a creator of art glass, specializing in personal jewelry items, which she markets under the name of Red Rock Glassworks.
Fiona operates as an independent real estate sales agent, but also works as Jean’s personal assistant – learning at the feet of the mistress!
Lenore Packet, Licensed Salesperson for ten years, is proud to call Columbia County home. A "people person" she enjoys working with buyers and sellers to assist them with their real estate needs. Lenore is a listener and works hard to meet the criteria set forth by customers and clients.  Along with her career in real estate, Lenore also is the Director and Teacher of a local preschool and serves as Trustee on the Chatham Village Board. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and keeping up with her favorite interests such as reading, gardening, beekeeping and knitting.

Geraldine Mercer, Associate Broker, has worked in local real estate for over twenty years. Born and raised in Chatham, Geri is married to Peter Mercer, a regional telephone company executive who is also a Columbia County native. They have two adult, married daughters. The Mercers make Chatham Village their home.
Since Geri has spent most of her life here, she is an expert when it comes to the local community, and she is happy to share that knowledge with anyone who is interested.
When Geri is not busy with real estate, she devotes much of her free time caring for her two young grandsons, a challenge she enjoys.

Grace Lensink, Licensed Salesperson, has called Columbia County home for over 30 years with her husband James After years as a personal property manager, buying, renting and finding the ideal properties for family and friends, it was time to share this passion with others. This experience has brought not only patience, but a keen sense of what home means to people. The look on someone’s face or the thrill in their voice when they find their dream home, is the ultimate joy.
If Grace is not driving through the county admiring properties and pondering who would love them, she is stopping at estate sales and farm markets or enjoying the serenity of her home.
David Sanford, Licensed Salesperson, is excited to be a part of Jean's team.  A native of Dutchess County, Dave has lived in Gwinnett County, Georgia, for thirty years, where he lovingly raised four sons, who have given him four lovely daughters-in-law and five beautiful grandchildren. He worked in real estate in northeast Georgia most recently, before moving to Columbia County two years ago.  He resides in Spencertown with partner DeeAnn Veeder, an artist, freelance writer and administrator for Tannery Pond Concerts, along with her son Gabriel, 2 big cats and 3 little dogs.  Dave likes to hike, fish, garden and do carpentry projects .
Mary Rattray, Licensed Salesperson, grew up in Devon, England, an agricultural county that has many similarities to the beautiful rolling hills of Columbia County. She has always loved country life but at a young age was drawn to the cultural attractions of London, and later NYC.
She lived in New York City for many years, where she enjoyed a career in education, and raised two sons. She later found she had a passion for real estate.
She worked for over 10 years in downtown Manhattan, a vibrant and exciting real estate market, but after purchasing her dream home in New Lebanon, she found herself longing for a more peaceful rural existence and moved upstate full time.
Columbia County and the surrounding counties are historically interesting and, in many ways, are still untouched by time. There is always a new scenic byway dotted with charming homesteads to discover. When she looks out her back door at the wild life, she finds the changes of the seasons are as interesting as they are meditative. This area also is much more than that: The close proximity of three major cities, Albany, Boston and NYC, means to her that we really do have it all.
Mary understands that finding your dream home, a place where you can truly unwind and leave the world outside, is as individual as the many properties that exist. She is an excellent listener with an extensive knowledge of the area, and will dedicate herself to helping you find what you are looking for. Helping people find that special place is, for her, just as exciting as the first time she discovered her own home.  She hopes to continue helping future Columbia County residents discover their own piece of paradise.
